The invention relates to an installation for detecting and supressing "hot spots" in the pneumatic transporting tubing for cotton and cotton-type fibrous material. According to the invention, the installation comprises two flame detectors (1) sensing the apparition of the flame in the tubing for pneumatically transporting the cotton fibrous materials, a deflector (2) wherethrough the cotton fibrous material passes freely in stand by position, and when the flame appears, it deflects the ignited material in an extinguishing enclosure (3) which is provided with a visiting door (9) in order to extinguish and remove the burned material, two rectangular cuts (5 and 6) in the upper side of the extinguishing enclosure (3), and a screen (4) for retaining the ignited material, while the material is extinguished manually by means of a extinguisher (10) located outside the extinguishing enclosure (3).
